Death Penalty
The laws relating to the death penalty for a crime are different for each country. They even vary by state in the USA. There are plenty of differences of opinion when it comes to the issue of the death penalty. It is guaranteed to continue being a topic that is highly debated long into the future. This is because everyone has their own ideals and what they believe to be right and wrong relating to the issue.
The death penalty is reserved for those that have been proven to have committed very serious crimes. They include murder and rape. They are considered to be a danger to others and so they will never be eligible for parole. Those individuals are said to be on death row. Yet the road to execution can take many years depending on the legal system that is involved with that individual.
The two most common ways that the death penalty is imposed with through lethal injection and the electric chair. Some people say these are inhumane ways to die. In some countries an execution by hanging or gun fire is still legal. A person may get to choose one of these methods of how they would like their life to be ended.
Yet when you look at what these people have been found guilty of the crime was much worse than how this person will die. Most people on death row are very calm when it is time for their execution to take place. They have come to terms with it and made their peace. Some still hold to their claims of innocence though up to the very last breath they take.
In the name of justice, the families of the victims have the choice to come to the witness the execution. Some do so and others don’t want to see any of it. It can be a hard choice for a family member to make though. It costs a great deal of money to care of those on death row. It also costs a great deal of money to complete the execution process. Yet what else can be done with such individuals that have crossed lines most of us have never dreamed of?
